Lieutenant-General Ernest Charles Ashton (born on October, 28 1873) CB, CMG, VD, is a Canadian general officer. He is the current Chief of the Imperial General Staff of the Royal Canadian army since 1935. The question of his replacement by a better known, valuable and recognized officer is one of the ongoing questions within the Canadian Army.
