Mommas House is an organization that has helped give young mothers hope and a safe haven to call home and bring their children to. These mothers who reside in Mommas House decided to keep their children under dyer circumstances and were found homeless and living in an unstable situation due to their lack of options to turn to. This organization gives these woman a safe residence where they will be thought skills to support themselves and their child. In the first 6 weeks after child birth they are encouraged to bond with their children. After that they can continue their education or have vocational experience. In their time residing in Mommas House they will need to save money that they will put a side for a smooth transition into the real world after they leave.

Patricia Shea, the Executive Program Director of Mommas House is a Catholic, church going lady who has opened her heart to these woman. With the help of the rest of the staff and herself these woman are given a chance to live normal, productive lives and not fall into a pit of poverty.

Some statistics that I need and plan to get are numbers that show how Mommas House has expanded in the last two years financially and numerically. I want to know how many mothers have walked through those doors and how the staff has grown.

In my Journalism 67 class, entitled PR Campaigns we are working with Pat Shea of Big Mommas House. We are planning to have a bowlathon that will raise enough money to give the children of this organization a playground. I have direct communication with Pat Shea, so that is how I plan to get my information.
