Hardware requirements

  • Microsoft Windows based PCs: A realistic minimum for the suite is something like a Pentium II with 256MB of memory. However, if you only want to use DecoderPro for reading, writing and off-line storage of decoder values you can get away with an antique Pentium and 128mb ram! But, once you get it up and going you're almost certainly going to want to use any of the myriad tools included for monitoring your railroad etc, and a Pentium gets pretty s-l-o-w at this point.
  • Apple Mac: Bob?
  • Linux: anyone?

Obviously, whatever platform is chosen must also have an available USB or RS232 interface depending upon how you're going to connect the LocoBuffer.
