Shimmering Stand

The Shimmering Stand is the largest gathering of humanity in the desert wastes near Sand-Covers-Jade. It acts as a trade hub for the many peoples that stubbornly cling to civilization so near to the Elemental Pole of Fire. It is named for the crystal forest that overlooks the city, perched high on a permanent wave of sand. It is home to only 500 people on a permanent basis, but thousands more occupy the ever shifting sea of merchant tents, bellowing the great worth of their wares to all who would listen. There is one reliable landmark here, a stone stage set up by the ruler of Shimmering Stand, the merchant overseer Shade Lion.
