For 200 years, Mewut Tewopau manned the remote tax station at Fourteen Flame Keep, slowly increasing his rank through dutiful, tireless service to the Realm. Such service was not without it's own rewards. This far from the shining heart of the empire the Magistrate was one of the few beings worthy of worship and so gathered a dedicated cult of legionnaires, nomads, desert mystics and mercenaries without attracting undue notice from the Immaculate Order. As the realms light faded in the absence of the Scarlet Empress, the magistrate tightened taxes on his domain to strangling levels in order to build up an army of his own in anticipation of a collapse necessitating the establishment of new kingdoms. One of which he intended to rule.

When Spite, Marrow, and Disinheritance walked Creation, serving the curse of Blood-From-Dust, the Magistrate's own curse-touched horde of jade was early on their list of targets. Tewopau's dreams of a personal empire suffered an extreme setback that day, and the town of Sand-Covers-Jade may likewise suffer should he ever uncover the source of the curse that led to his current state.

This is not the only time his will has been thwarted in recent history, a pair of mere mortals stole his favorite prizes. The daughters of Jade Falcon, taken as a substitute for tax that he intended to raise personally were boldly abducted from his tower at Fourteen Flame Keep days before the height of the curse. This stings his exalted pride more than the bloody battle that razed his home.
