Return (2012)

Punk returned at a Concussion event to let the world know that he was indeed suspend by AEW Owner Shane McMahon, But he was told by the board of directions that he was able to return to the ring as soon as possible.

Feud with Bobby Roode & Chris Hero (2012)

Punk has started a feud with Team Canada member Bobby Roode, on the April 9, 2012 episode of Concussion, Roode attacked Punk in the back. April 16, 2012 on Concussion Punk aided the Motor City Machine Guns from a attack by Team Canada and came close to hitting a Go 2 Sleep on Roode. on the April 23, 2012 episode of Concussion Punk is scheduled to face Matt Hardy. May 14, 2012 on Concussion, Punk attacked AEW Light Heavyweight Champion Petey Williams and AEW Television Champion Chris Hero in their Champion vs. Champion main event, Hero would try and attacked Punk. But, Punk was able to slip out and try and lock in the Anaconda Vice on Hero but Hero was able to slip out and escape with the TV title. On the AEW website, It was announced that Punk would face Roode in a match on Concussion, and it was also announced via the AEW website that a Twitter war began between Punk and Hero, leading to a match at Mayhem in Chicago Illinois (Punk's hometown) with the AEW Television Championship on the line.
