Adam Cole made his Attitude Era Wrestling debut on the 1/20/14 edition of Concussion, headlining the YouTube Pre-Show in a match against former AEW Wrestle War winner Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder. Cole used his Corona Crash DDT to pin Ryder to pick up his first victory, impressing in the process.
The following week it was announced that The Panama City Playboy would meet Antonio Cesaro. In The Allstate Arena, Chicago, IL, on the 1/27/14 edition of Concussion Cole defeated Cesaro with a Superkick to the back of the head and the help of a returning Matt Hardy to capture the AEW Television Championship, a title Cesaro had only won the previous week.
