The media Group Tientsin Libre Groupe was created in 1989 with the launch of T1, a genaralist channel. The Commpany has today more than 14 000 employees and owns newspapers, television channels, broadcastings and websites.

The newspaper Tientsin Libre is the wildest diffused newspaper in Tientsin, founded by the french newspaper Le Monde in 1946. In the 90s, the golden boy, Richard Duys bought the newspaper. With Richard Duys, TL developed faster, He launched many new newspaper in French ( TL Magazine now TL 2) and in Chinese.

The other important publication of TL Group is Tientsin Libre 2, the Sunday MAgazine who emphazise on actual news and un-conventional subjects, line New York Times Magazine. It became a Sunday Suplement in 1999 to Tientsin Libre Week End to restart Tientsin Libre's week end edition, which was making poor selling a the end of the 90s and the popularity of TL2
