It has been created in 1958 witht the fusion of the 3 arrondissements of Fort Bayart-Ville, Tai Po and Basse Isle (lower island). The arrondissement of Tientsin Isle is divided into 7 cities: -Fort Bayart -Tai Po -Shai Pek -Roc-à -Pic -Sainte Geneviève -Saint George -Kennedy-Ville
Today the urban sprawl has made the territory of Tientsin Isle less effective. That's why many policians try to project a new administrative subdivision that would cover the whole metropolitan area to make effective public projects.
