The Banque de Tientsin was founded in 1897 has a private bank. After the WWII, the bank has been nationalized and became a part of the Banque de France. In 1999, the Banque de Tientsin was given to the Government of Tientsin-Fort Bayart SAR and was apointed to be the central bank of the SAR.
