Not to offend any one of these agencies, they are not in any particular order. In addition, the other agencies on the list are probably of equal worth and talent… but these are pretty cool.
Strawberry Frog: Founded by a Scott Goodson in Amsterdam and just recently joined the Madison Ave cool kids club. This firm regularly turns to outside specialists, freelancers etc. They are modeled after an operation “free of overhead and bureaucracy”. They refer to the other agencies and methods of practice as “the dinosaurs”, and that’s exactly who they take on. They are a small and innovative agency that has swiped major clients from major competing agencies. They have small internal teams providing core services to each client while being supplemented by outside support.
St. Lukes: A prestigious catholic school where a uniform is mandatory, the children come out worse than they came in, and the head Priest holds extended choir practice. This agency was described as being the “end all ad agency”. It is out of London, and they practice “eschewed conventional hierarchy in favor of the flattest possible organizational layout, and the craziest ever decision-making process”. They enable a free thinking environment where employees create great work, regardless of however they accomplish it. In 1995, a small band of creative people formed an organization to get the most out of them while escaping the conventional work setting. At St Lukes, every employee is also a owner. The office itself is configured in unconventional ways, they have brand rooms, where the brands identity takes over the space, chill out rooms ( most likely with window access), and a cafeteria.
Barbarian Group- Decade old firm of creative men, re-creating Viking warfare for children’s birthday parties. The main focus of this firm is their outsourcing to other specialists in order to continuously create creativity and insight. They put together various teams for the specific job needed to be done. They offer creative direction, as well as emphasizing on innovation and technological guidance. I will included here soon an article from Adweek about the outsourcing they use in daily business….
