  • Volunteers in Asia: Positions in Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand

-- Volunteers in Asia is accepting applications for its summer 2010 programs and its 1 & 2 year programs. Programs in Southeast Asia are offered in Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.

-- VIA's one- and two-year positions allow individuals to volunteer with under served institutions for an extended period of time. All VIA volunteers work on building English language capacity. You will work either with an educational institution as an English teacher, with a local non-profit organization as an English resource volunteer, or some combination of the two. Some of the organizations focus on specific sectors which will allow volunteers to build and use their experience in areas such as education, the environment, gender, health and disability issues, migration, minority empowerment, or rural and community development.

-- VIA's summer programs provide short-term, focused cultural exchange experiences for any Americans over the age of 18. Programs are designed to help you explore Asia while participating in a community in a meaningful way.
