Appearance

Hannah has a bony build (looking more unhealthy than attractive) and a pale, thin face, and if not for her constant mocking expression would seem reasonably non-threatening. Dark brown curls are usually piled up in a messy knot on her head, and small, dark eyes glint with malice. Her mouth is almost always in a smirk, as if everything she sees is an ironic joke. She is only 5 foot 3 inches naturally, but her huge array of stilleto heels usually put her at just about 5 foot six.

As for clothing style, Hannah is always dressed just a bit too well for the occasion. Her clothes aren't overly conservative by any stretch of the imagination, but always look as if she was expecting to go somewhere just a bit more formal then where she actually ended up. She wouldn't be caught dead in anything less than designer clothes, which isn't too hard because she's friends with every major wizarding designer in style right now.

Dewitt is played by actress Emmy Rossum

Personality

At face value, Hannah is the devil. Honestly. She is one of the most self-centered, sarcastic, back-stabbing, critical people you will ever meet. She has no problem with telling someone just what she thinks of them, and she's got quite a few people that loathe her because of it. She likes to think of herself as straightforward, but she still enjoys tormenting people just for the hell of it every chance she gets.

Hannah is not the kind of person to have a tight-knit group of gal pals that she drinks coffee with and chats about her sex life; she leaves that to her gay male friends. She is a huge diva, and highly competitive with any other woman who tries to out-do her, so she rarely makes any female friends. She absolutely adores gay men, especially flamingly gay ones, because she finds them to be the only people who can take her daily criticism and still like her. As for straight men, she has given up on trying to find that one perfect guy, and now treats men as little playthings to occupy her time when she's not working.

Hannah has a slightly warped idea of love: she believes that true love can happen, but it almost never will. She thinks that what most people think of as love is really only relief about not being alone. She is almost certain that she won't ever find actual love, so she settles for one-night-stands and shallow affairs and tries to never get too attached (she always does, of course, but that's just her luck).

Hannah's entire personality changes when she's in her Anamagi form, a clouded leopard. She instantly becomes a playful (though slightly psychotic) kitten, and uses her transfiguration abilities whenever she's stressed and needs a break from real life. As a clouded leopard she can scale almost any surface, and loves to climb onto the top of furniture or low branches and pounce on her "prey", which is often as not rats, chipmunks, or her close friends.

The Panic

Hannah frequently has panic attacks, usually situationally bound or caused by stressful situations. Some things in her life will almost always trigger a panic attack, such as impending situations that seem dangerous for people close to her, places where she has had previous panic attacks, and places where she or someone close to her has recently been in danger. Nightmares, being alone, and remembering dangerous situations after the fact can also trigger these attacks.

Though she has been dealing with them for some time, she has little control over her attacks, and she has certain symptoms that can be expected during a normal attack: an overwhelming feeling of dread, dizziness, sudden hot or cold flashes, trembling, and shortness of breath are all reasonably standard. Some very intense attacks also bring new symptoms: uncontrollable crying, tunnel vision, a feeling of suffocation and numbness has occurred occasionally. These symptoms can last anywhere from five to fifteen minutes.

As of yet no one really knows about Hannah's panic attacks, and she tries to hide them as best she can, locking herself away in her room or office when she feels one coming on. This does little to help the fear of being alone that often makes her attacks worse, but she is to embarrassed to ask anyone for help.

History

Hannah was born the last of four children. She grew up near the Scottish border with few wizards to look up to but her older brothers. Thoughout history the Dewitts have all pledged alleigence to the various dark wizards of their time, and Hannah's parents were no exception. Her father has rarely stayed home long enough for her to get to know him, and only sees her quickly about once a year. She has no idea what he even does for a living or why he is constantly travelling. Hannah's mother is anything but affectionate, ofen speaking to her daughter not face to face but through their family's aging house elf, Blinken. Hannah's older brothers, the only people she would ever talk to about her insecurities, try to make up for their parents by doting on her and bringing her up like royalty (which might have actually hurt more than helped).

What Hannah doesn't know is the man that she believes to be her father is actually her step-father. Her real father is currently in Azkaban. A good-natured and eccentric man, he never had any true allegiance to the Dark Lord, and once he had children he realized that he didn't want them forced into service like he was. Hannah's mother, who was a Death Eater through and through and had only married for the Dewitt name and fortune, was furious and actually set up Hannah's father for the murder of an Auror and his family. He was sent to Azkaban for life and hasn't seen his children since Hannah was a year old. Hannah has never been told about this, and her mother plans on keeping the secret from her forever.

At Hogwarts Hannah was in Slytherin house, and thrived there. She taunted Muggle-Borns, Hufflepuffs, and First Years, and gained a fair ammount of enemies because of her crueltly. She thought she was the queen of the castle until about her 6th year, when her life started dissentigrating around her; her family pressured her into becoming a DE, the DEs pressured her to become an Animagi, and she realized that she didn't have a true friend in the world who she didn't treat like crap. After a bout of anorexia and depression, and a failed engagement, Hannah gave up trying to be a DE and left her control-freak of a mother forever. She became a HUSH member right before she graduated from Hogwarts, and started her own witch fashion magazine, Moda Di Strega, in London.

William Montgomery-Dewitt

Dewitt's 8-year-old second cousin. He usually dislikes being around other people, and spends almost every waking moment reading books way past his age level. (William is played by actor Thomas Sangster)

Allegra Dewitt

Dewitt's crazy mother. She's pretty much a psycho. (Allegra is played by actress Minnie Driver)

Keanan Dewitt

Dewitt's oldest brother. She used to look to him for protection, but now she doesn't need him anymore.

Sebastian Dewitt

Dewitt's second brother. The brains of the family, he was the only one who could keep Allegra from hurting Dewitt.
