Appearance

The first thing to notice about the girl that despite her admiration for fashion, she still looks much like a tomboy, but Chun doesn’t really pay that much attention to that fact. She had a more refined look before moving in with Herbology professor, Una MacNamara. Upon moving to Ireland, however, it definitely became a rougher look for her, showing more into her personality.
First off, Chun is about the average height for an Asian, which is much shorter than other Hogwarts residents. This is a truth that the girl frequently ignores as to avoid any hindering to her frequent commanding atmosphere, one that she constantly strives for with respect. Her built is thin and attractive, a decent bust fitting her that keeps many eyes on her in previous occurrences. She is someone that a man might find as beauty and often described by Adrian Kinlan, “A challenge.”
Her face structure isn’t that different from that of typical Chinese, a round face with radiant pale skin. Her nose is thin and almost button looking with thin, pale-looking lips. Her eyes are thin and a dark black-ish color, always narrowed in a skeptical glare with a small frown on her expression.
While it comes as a surprise for a hot-blooded reputation, the sixteen-year-old shows some kind of strange appreciation for fashion particularly that of the United Kingdom. Even with this fact, she shows distaste for most jewelry and any make-up, a near rarity as bad as her having an every day conversation with a hufflepuff.

Family

Chun comes from the pureblood family, the Au-Yongs, known for their strong aurors and intelligent ravenclaws. Most of the family branches are wealthy, but the leader of the actual family, the Vinzon’s, are actually squibs.
In truth, Chun’s connections to her family have been near completely severed due to her cousin and her’s disowning after the death of Aivehn’s father. Now she lives with Herbology professor, Professor Una MacNamara along with Steve MacNamara.
Relationships

  • Aivehn Fynn Vinzon Cousin: The only family member that she keeps good tabs with, Chun often considers the boy as a brother. Other times, it’s a nuisance.

  • Shui Au-Yong Brother: It would come as a surprise to know that the two are related as the two are nothing alike. Their personalities and differing opinions clash frequently.

  • Mei Lin Loong Cousin: While Mei is residing in Beauxbaton, that doesn’t hinder any confrontations between the two.

Character Development

Personality

Chun is someone that every now and then, you have to scratch your head at. Most days, she’s a dark individual with a quiet reserve, spending most time observing others rather than wasting time with them. When not associating with anyone, she comes out as almost a model student; decent grades in most of her classes while a bit weaker in Charms.
You would never guess it if you happened to be speaking to her, however. It was a “rashness and hot-headedness that was better suited for a Gryffindor” (as described by Ashlynn Tippet) that had created the Slytherin’s violent reputation that even ranged to those in her same house, most notably Johann Jager. Her prejudice falls on different bloodlines and houses like many of slytherin and would seem like a future death eater in the making if she did not despise them.
Even with this hard-shelled exterior, the sixteen-year-old does have a softer side to her, often hidden by her lack of better words. The girl is someone that doesn’t express empathy easily, giving a callous tone in her words. While she’s gruff, she understands, something that very few seem to be aware of. This is an insecurity that Chun never speaks of for reasons of pride, a double-edged sword that seem to always cause trouble in many of her problems, especially recently.
One insecurity that Chun never hides is the fact that she’s uncomfortable around women, more recognizable with those she’s attracted to. It’s the only time that the coldest moods seem to finally shed off to a stuttering mess, mixing in with blushes and uneasy glances. Other ways is her well-hidden love for animals, loving different assortments of birds in particular.

  • Amaryllis Noircroix Crush: “I think I may have overstepped some boundaries.”
  • Aislinn Everstone ???: “If I had known… I’m sorry.”

History

Chun was born on December 1st to Cuan and Jie Au-Yong as the youngest of the three children in Beijing. Her childhood was one of shielding of not only the muggle world, but many of the dark subjects that have touched the Wizarding World, including Voldemort and the murders done by Death Eaters. This plan would later prove to backfire.
Like her siblings, the future Slytherin was home-schooled and taught the strictest of etiquette, learning often the hard way of what to do and not to do in front of her family. Many of times, it could be considered borderline-abusive, something that took until 5th year to realize. Even at a young age, she didn’t get along with most of her family, even then a fiery individual which only her eldest sibling, Genji seemed to be able to control in the slightest. The two had a close relationship in her early years, even learning how to play the piano from her older sister.
However, many of her things were kept from her and even her family that had came back full-force against Genji. In the year before her entrance in Hogwarts on December 21st, a Death Eater had snuck into the home while the three children were the only ones there. In an attempt to keep Chun safe, her sister had her hide under her own bed as she was murdered.
This brought one of the final schisms to bring about the leaving of her family, fully open to the realities of mankind and society. Her relations of the family had only worsened afterward, physically fighting with her older brother and frequently arguing with other family members. It brought some relief to her parents when her letter came, hoping that the time at school would soften her up. In a shock, she was placed into slytherin, the first one in her family for the past 50 years.
While out of place at first, Chun quickly found her niche in the house, quickly joining the typical lines of those who torture the other houses.

Creator’s Comments

Chun had been a character I created by accident if you want me to be honest. I had been looking through a model site when I found Chun’s first model, Meichun T. The workings of her had been quick soon afterward. Frankly, I love Chun, a strange irony I admit. If I were to meet someone like her today, I would be quick enemies with them. Chun could be considered the embodiment of the qualities I just can’t work with, but her hidden qualities are those I admire—those qualities I plan to be bringing out through the course of this year.
As we’re mentioning this year, I plan for this to be the eye-opener for her. This will be the year that will really define what really sets her apart from the other typical slyths that are out there, beating those younger years. Once again, Una has agreed to help with this and incidentally, Linnie herself will be setting a very big lesson for her. I say thank you to both of you and Ai once again for bringing a sort of foil into Chun’s life like Aivehn.
