Quick Facts

Appearance

There is nothing that Morgan would note in terms of strange appearances. She often feels strangely tall, but in reality she is only tall for a girl at 5’8”. Apart from that she has brown eyes layered brown hair. She has a slightly square jaw and angled eyebrows. Her crooked smile makes it seem like she is highly amused at life rather then really jubilant.

She often wears robes instead or over muggle clothing, even in her time off. Most of them look quite presentable except for her few favourites that she refuses to throw away. When not wearing robes a simple blouse and slacks suffice. She also has a pair of horn rimmed reading glasses which she hates and only use as a last resort.

Personality

Morgan’s feet are not on the ground. Her imagination is always concocting schemes and actions that might be amusing. She often lacks the nerve to try them, but every once in a while she’ll go out on a limb and simply devour the melodrama and adrenaline that ensues. She grasps theoretical knowledge quickly and enjoys coming up with more and more “what if”s. The fact that she has a natural understanding, she generally abides by the principal of ‘don’t work hard, work smart”. Ergo her class assignments are usually thoughtful and deep rather then busy work. Her work habits have lead to a new habit: laziness. If something doesn’t sound interesting, Morgan will make herself sparse in an instant rather then volunteer.

Her ability to perceive abstract concepts makes her class particularly difficult because she will often only brush on a complex idea before moving on. She doesn’t notice this herself, but will be only too glad to go back and explain more thoroughly. Though she doesn’t mind helping strugglers, she really favours the students who not only understand but try new concepts and push their limits.

Morgan is polite and friendly to strangers, but her wit doesn’t start to show until she relaxes. She is a social person, and enjoys spending a lot of time with her closest friends. Solitude usually bores her, though large crowds generally confuse her. Morgan is generally easy-going. It takes a lot to bother her, and a lot more to maker her angry. She usually just moves past classroom interruptions. She has an ability to tune things out like tapping and chatter. Only when she has expectations on her does she start to get anxious or bothered, such as the first day of classes.

History

Morgan was born and bred Welsh. Both her mother and father were half-bloods, so she calls herself a half-blood out of simple math. She has a younger brother, Robert, who she gets along with well enough, though they don’t see much of each other any more.

When she arrived at Hogwarts she was sorted into Gryffindor. Transfiguration and Arithmancy were her top subjects and she was also a chaser her sixth and seventh year. Whenever she could get away with it, Morgan would do her homework in other classes or between classes. However, all the time she saved this way was thrown away helping her classmates with it later. In school she met a charming man Samuel Goens. She married him less then a month after graduation

After graduation, Morgan became a journalist for several years. Quickly she realized how much she missed doing magic for the sake of doing magic. (When she transfigured her entire china and silverware set into all manner or marine life then back again she finally realized she was missing something in her life). As she was contemplating a new career, her marriage started to fall apart. What seemed charming in school was not holding ground in the working world. He opposed her decision to changer careers, but his job was growing dull to her and she yearned to travel. Blaming her problems on marrying too early, she got divorced shortly after their sixth anniversary.

Morgan traveled to help escape her troubles at home and to discover what career she wanted to pursue next. She broke curses in Turkey and searched for magical plants off the coast of New Zealand, and bartered Dragon products in the China, but nothing seemed to fit.

She returned to Wales when she was about twenty seven and resigned to work as a journalist again. Hardly a year went by before an opening came up for a Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts. Morgan jumped on it, realizing that was the one place that she ever settled into. She has been working there for five years now, and loves every minute of it. She blames it on an overactive inner child.

Random Facts

She keeps a lot of animals in her room for use in class, but the only one she really considers a 'pet' is a Macaw called Artemis. Her patronus is a Macaw.

She published a translation of Theories in Transfiguration which she uses as a text in class.
