I had originally wanted to use the name Icadyptes for the project a while ago. Icadyptes comes from [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6239846.stm this article] about a gigantic pengiun that was recently discovered. I loved the beak size comparision (picture: "Icadyptes" on top with "Ubuntu" on the bottom ;-) ). Unfortunately the name is fairly awkward and hard to pronounce. I also do not want to imply that the distribution is large, but more that it is light, powerful, flexible, secure, and reliable. We could possibly stick with "Icadyptes", though the general concencous is against it.

I had originally wanted to use the name Icadyptes for the project a while ago. Icadyptes comes from this article about a gigantic pengiun that was recently discovered. I loved the beak size comparision (think of a picture with "Icadyptes" on top and "Ubuntu" on the bottom :-) ). Unfortunately the name is fairly awkward and hard to pronounce. I also do not want to imply that the distribution is large, but more that it is light, powerful, flexible, secure, and reliable. We could possibly stick with "Icadyptes", though the general concencous is against it.
