five sections of the ib economics course:

1. introduction to economics -scarcity -economic problem

2. microeconomics -demand -supply -elasticities -taxes and subsidies -market structures -market failure

3. macroeconomics -measuring national income -economic development -aggregate demand -aggregate supply -inflation/deflation -unemployment -distribution of income

4. international economics -reasons for trade -free trade and protectionism -economic intergration -exchange rates -balance of payments -terms of trade

5. developmental economics - characteristics of developing countries -growth and development strategies - barriers to economic growth and economic development

the oxford economics course companion is a very good text book for economics, I haven't found one better.

another very good source which I use is www.bized.co.uk under the economics tab which covers much of the information in the syllabus; very useful!
