Grading

The IB grade is comprised of four separate components:

  1. Internal Assessments (Lab reports/Practicals): 24% for both Standard (SL) and Higher (HL) levels.
  2. Exam Paper 1 - multiple choice questions on the core topics: 20% for both SL and HL.
  3. Exam Paper 2 - free response questions on the core topics: 32% for SL; 36% for HL.
  4. Exam Paper 3 - free response questions on the option topics: 24% for SL; 20% for HL.
