:The Ateneo High School celebrated Independece Day by reliving the days of Martiall Law. The AHS community gathered in the covered courts for the morning ceremonies instead of inside their respectives classrooms and workrooms. 4th year CAdT officers and cadets paraded the Ateneo's school colors as well as the Philippines'. Afterwards, the AHS community watched a specialy prepared video featuring Ateneans during Martial Law. Special Guest and father to one of the AHS freshmen, Noel Cabangan sang the song "Ang Bayan Ko" while a video honoring Ateneans who died while serving their country during Martial Law played. AHS principal Fr. RB Hizon then gave a speech about the celebration. He expressed his delight and his sorrow in calling the celebration, "Araw ng Kasarinlan", not "Araw ng Kalayaan". According to Fr. RB, "the Philippines is not yet free..."
