Grand Celebration

The Grand Celebration is an annual party which celebrates the anniversary of HA2's opening on June 14. So far there have been two Grand Celebrations, and the Royal Guards have traditionally posted all relevant topics as close to the actual time of HA2's opening back in 2005 (approximately 4:43 EST) as they can manage, with rather impressive results (the first year it was posted only 8 minutes late, and in 2007 it was posted right on time). They have not been so successful, however, in closing the Celebration on time; the first one, which was supposed to last only a week, went on for over a month, and the second, which saw the time extend to a month, ended up going for three or four months.

The first Grand Celebration had only one event, a quest known as Take the Cake. It is, to date, the only TP-awarding quest with a time limit; adventurers were required to complete it before the Celebration ended, or else miss out on the TP. Countering this downside is the fact that no one actually had to do anything other than post in the topic accepting a piece of cake from Tingle; they would automatically be granted the TP upon the consumption of this delicious (and apparently somewhat magical) pastry.
2007's GC saw a major boost in the available festivities. The Take the Cake quest returned for this one, but the second festival also saw the inclusion of Din's Traveling Troupe in the mix. The NPCs of the Troupe joined up with three new NPCs introduced to Hyrule at these events (Mendion the Ninja, Nayru [Oracle of Ages], and Farore [Oracle of Secrets]) to form a series of topics which adventurers could interact with, and many of the previously flat characters were given personalities and names through these topics. Several NPCs also held special minigames designed for this party, such as Zendal's Trivia game or Jinoa's magic controlling test. The three Oracles also had a topic where Din danced while the other two played majestic music for her, where characters could watch and comment on the festivities.
Perhaps the event that garnered the most attention, however, was the Grand Tournament, a 1v1 single elimination tourney which saw the participation of the majority of HA2's active members. This portion of the Grand Celebration is still ongoing, while the rest of the topics have been locked up and moved to the Castle Dungeon.
In all, the Second Annual Grand Celebration had the following topics associated with it:
