Hyrule Adventures 2
From Hyrule
Hyrule Adventures 2 is an HTML based caption came hosted on The Desert Colossus. The game itself was created by Jack O'Reily, and is maintained by moderators and "Royal Guards," moderators that watch over and manage official events. The game itself is only half-complete, though it is very large. The second half of the game, known as South Hyrule, is ready to be explored; however, the Gohma event must be completed before such exploration can occur.
The game itself is not strictly Zelda, as players have brought in ideas of their own, or ideas from other series. This diversity and large cast of characters makes Hyrule Adventures 2 a one-of-a-kind game.
As of 18 Aug 2007 there are 379 players.

Story
"In the Year After Creation, 1979, the King of Evil was sundered and the Exiles returned to Hyrule after the Long Defeat. The Hero is now absent and the land is at peace. Yet, the ever present whispers of evil carry on the wind. Adventurers shall carve out their fates in this land, and monsters shall spread the plague of death in tandem. So is the prophecy laid forth at Hyrule's founding, and so has her history proven true since the Founding." -Sage Artorius, Keeper of Lore
Following the reclamation of the Triforce of Courage in Adventure of Link, the Kingdom of Hyrule managed to survive the brutal war unleashed upon its homeland by Ganondorf's spirit. Though the victory was pyhrric in many respects (much of Southern Hyrule is now firmly under the hold of Ganon's hordes, lead by paranoid warlords without the influence of their King of Evil), the Royal Family finally once again held the power that it had spottily borne since ancient times. The Hero, Link, has retired to his farm in Hyrule Field, and the REF has been disbanded as part of the truce between the Kingdom and the Hordes.
Now disparate faction vie for influence and power within Hyrule--the Hylian Knights who serve the King; the Exiles, coping with the results of choosing the wrong side in the war; and Blind's Gang, who value treasure above else--and each faction will soon be forced to work with the others when the terrible secret gestating in the desert comes to light. Peace will soon be sacrificed and the truce will be shattered.

systems
See: Character creation, Stat Battles.
The game follows a rupee-based money system, where every post made by a player gains them a rupee. Players can use these to purchase items at shops located around the game. Players can also "donate" to other players. Items bought can also be sold, with some more expensive then others.
Every post a player makes also earns them EXP, and when a player has a certain amount, they level up.
The battle system is stat based, every player creates a character and determines their stats by race and class factors. A typical characters stats are shown below:
Narrator (L1 Hylian Scholar)
STR 1 (Base) 1 DEF 2 (Base) 2 AGI 1 (Base) 1 INT 3 (Base) + 3 (Race) = 6 (Total) SPI 3 (Base) 3 HP 20 (Base) 20 SPL 3 (L x Base) + 3 (SPI) = 6 (Total)
Stats can also be improved. TP (talent points.) Can be used to purchase skills and talents from the rules set. Certain stats increase with level-ups.
There is also a race system, each race has benefits and disadvantages, and each has an increase to a certain stat as well as an innate ability. The current list of races and their bonuses:
Hylians Weak to Shadow, Strong to Light, Favor of the Goddesses.
Humans No resistance bonuses, Human Ingenuity.
Deku Scrubs Very weak to Fire, Very strong to Nature, Spit a Deku Nut.
Sheikah Weak to Light, Strong to Shadow, Shadowmeld
Zora Weak to Earth, Strong to Water, Swimming.
Gorons Weak to Water, Strong to Earth, Spirit of Dragonbane.
Fairies Weak to Shadow, Strong to Light, Tiny.
Rito are seen numerous times throughout the game, but they are not a playable race.
Gerudo are seen numerous times throughout the game, but are not a playable race. Jack O'Reily stated on the TDC Forums that the tribe of women would play a very important role in the game, but would remain NPC's only.
Topics
As part of the game, players make topics in which they tell interactive stories with other players. Many scenarios can happen, including romance, battles, mysteries, and even just peaceful days. Usually each topic a player makes corresponds with their characters storyline, although sometimes truly random topics spring up, although even these have stories to tell. A common fad among the players in the game is to create house topics in an area, these are the places the players character usually resides.
Areas
The game follows a grid-like system of area's. A compass appears in the top-right corner of the screen, clicking on one piece of the compass takes the player to an area in that direction. Each area has a board where topics can be made.
Events
Events are in-game topics that are generally created by players with permission from Royal Guard, or by the Royal Guard himself, though an instance such as this has not yet occurred. Oftentimes, events have some significance in the player's overall storyline. It is often a given that powerful enemies and/or challenging puzzles appear in events. Completing an event awards TP to all who participated, and an extra TP is awarded to the best Role Player of the event.
Another event is the "Best RPer of the Month Award," where players vote on the best Role Player of that month. The event is ongoing.
