The Hylian Knights are the primary armed force of Hyrule. They are seen everywhere, in towns, traveling the field, and guarding important areas. Knights are not to be confused with Royal Guards, who are the powerful protectors of the royal family of Hyrule. They are also not to be confused with the Royal Elite Remnant, even stronger guards.

The knights are enforcers of the law, acting much like police officers in the cities of Hyrule. In times of war, the Knights are all soldier in the battles, and take up much of Hyrule's army.

Each Knight is equipped with a standard 2-Handed Sword, a Hylian Shield, and a Spear. They are all armored, though the style of armor changes from place-to-place.
