Ranks

1 = Deadly, lethal, difficult, forbidden.

2 = Dangerous, may cause bad injuries, relatively easy to do.

3 = Pathetic, this spell should not even exist, much less be used.

Elemental Spells

Fire Element

Fire - This spell is common knowledge, and is used by many characters, though Kasei and Hiro are best known for it. Using this allows the caster to create and manipulate a ball of flame, and it can be used for many attacks and purposes*. It is considered a Rank 2 spell, but it can be used for Rank 1 attacks. Rank=2

  • Note: Kasei can manipulate fire naturally, so he does not technically know this spell, though the scroll is seen in his inventory in the game.
  • Fire currently costs no TP, though it is rumored that that will change when the next edition of the Rules Set is published.


Nature Element

Thunder - Easily the most destructive spell a normal mage can acquire, it causes lightning to rain down and strike all enemies, regardless of location. This spell is useful if surrounded by a large number of enemies. Rank=1

  • Cost = 12 SPL
  • L1 - 3 TP - Can Cast
  • L2 - 4 TP - +25% More DMG
  • L3 - 6 TP - +50% More DMG


Shadow Element

Spell - Spell is a random kind of deal, and perfect for those on their last leg with little chance of victory. When cast, the GM rolls a D20, and the results of that roll give the following effects:

  • 1-10 = An enemy is confused for 2 rounds
  • 11-15 = An enemy is removed from combat
  • 16-18 = Nothing happens
  • 19 = A bag of 50 rupees appears
  • 20 = A free Thunder spell is cast

As can be seen, there is no way to ever be sure of what will happen, and Spell is therefore a favorite for gamblers and those willing to push their luck.

  • Cost = 4 SPL
  • L1 - 1 TP - Can Cast
  • L2 - 1 TP - +1 to Roll
  • L3 - 2 TP - +3 to Roll
  • L4 - 3 TP - +5 to Roll


Multiple Elements

Elemental Burst - A spell that can be learned by anyone, it is a powerful elemental attack that hits one enemy, taking the form of a sphere and randomly changing elements. The user cannot control what element that burst becomes unless they train it to a higher level. Since it is moderately powerful and universal, it is a common backup strategy for Grunts. Rank=2

  • Cost = 6 SPL
  • L1 - 1 TP - Can Cast
  • L2 - 3 TP - Can Choose Element
  • L3 - 3 TP - +3 DMG


Elemental Explosion - This spell is much more deadly than it's predecessor, the elemental burst, because it attacks multiple targets. It is only usable by Mages, and has the same random elements as the Burst, although skilled mages can control the elemental shifting. Alpha, the Sheikah Mage, is well known for his use of this spell. Rank=1

  • Cost = 14 SPL
  • L1 - 3 TP - Can Cast
  • L2 - 6 TP - Can Choose Element
  • L3 - 6 TP - +5 DMG


Special Character Spells

As this is a game focused on the players' creativity, it is not uncommon for writers to come up with special spells that only their character(s) know(s). These are often disallowed during official, admin/mod-GMed fights or Events, but in terms of role-playing these things can easily set one adventurer apart from the others.

  • Note: All spells are only allowed to be used by the creator of the spell, unless permission is specifically granted by the creator.


Air Blast - A blast of air fired from the palm, mouth, or fist. It was developed by manipulating air around a sphere of energy. This is Aria's trademark spell. Rank=2


Fire-breathing - This allows the user to spit out a blast of fire from there mouth, usually as a way to blind opponents. This spell is far more difficult to do that the standard fire spell, as the user must already have a high body temperature. It is therefore useless and impossible to do underwater or in cold regions*. Rank=3

  • It is uncommon for this spell to be seen used by people other than Kasei.


Jormungand - A blast of charged chaotic energy, either a large black energy orb ,or when fully charged, a large tentacle. Its power is weakened in sacred areas, such as near temples. Rank=2

  • Note: Only Azador can use this.


Rohtric Dwors - The second spell of the Rohtra Hiran style, this technique makes use of the electricity absorbed by the Rohtric Carrse by releasing a concentrated, sharpened wave of lightning. Rank=2

  • Note: Only Alpha can use this.


Rohtric Khysse - Currently the most powerful of Alpha's Rohtric spells, this attack unleashes a monstrous amount of electricity in the form of a massive tornado. Rank=1

  • Note: Only Alpha can use this.

Spirit of Dragonbane - The racial ability of Gorons, this talent allows the rock people to call upon the spirit of a legendary Goron hero Dragonbane, further boosting their already impressive STR with an additional 3 points until the end of the next turn.


Restrictions

Spells are potentially the most powerful abilities that can be learned in HA2, but this power results in it being necessary to limit which classes can learn them. The following is a list of each spell that is restricted to a certain class or classes, meaning that only a member of that class may learn the listed spells. As Scholars are the more magically based, while Vagabonds and Grunts are more physically-minded in abilities, it should come as no surprise that the all of the restricted Attack Spells are for the Scholar Main Class.
