Every character in Hyrule belongs to a race, with Hylian and Shiekah being the majority in hyrule. The race of a character defines what abilities it may have, its hometown, and other things.

There are 9 races used so far, though only 7 are playable.

Races

Hylian- the major race in hyrule.

Shiekah- second-most popular, a race of shadows.

Humans

Gorons

Deku

Zora

Fairies

Rito are not playable, although they are featured prominently.

Gerudo are not playable, although they are featured prominently.

Minish are not playable. The only appearance of one thus far is as one of Leth's companions.
