Darknuts and Iron Knuckles are among the strongest non-boss creatures in existence.

In essence, they are merely Enchanted Armour with a body under the metal, explaining their incredible strength and skill in battle. These iron monstrosities are notorious for wielding huge weapons, and occasionally carry secondary weapons and shields. Some are known to carry a spiked ball, like that of a mace, at the end of a chain that they swing around and hurl into foes. These are called Ball and Chain troopers. If all the armor is slashed off of one of these titans, they may throw their heavy weapon at their foe and draw a much lighter and faster sword. Darknuts are incredibly intelligent, as evident in their battles. These monsters can wield a sword, can pick up weapons, and can understand some language. They are intelligent enough to know some sword techniques, as well as martial arts. They are skillful fighters both armed and unarmed, able to anticipate attacks from all but the most skilled opponents.

Though they play no significant role, Darknuts and Iron Knuckles are feared as dangerous foes, monsters that few adventurers can fight alone. When in groups of three or more, only the toughest survive.
