Family History

Along with several other families, the Buendia founded Macondo as a way to get away from their horrible past. Some traveling gypsies also contributed and their leader, Melquiades, became a longtime family friend. After several years and few generations later, a civil war broke out in the country near Macondo, and the tiny village was forced to send Aureliano Buendia with a militia to fight. He gained many enemies became quite infamous, often referred to as Colonel Aureliano Buendia.

During the war, Colonel Aureliano Buendia had one night stands with many woman because traditionally, young women were sent to sleep with high-rank soldiers. He had seventeen children from seventeen different women. They were all baptized as Aureliano with the surname of their mothers.

Many years later Colonel Aureliano Buendia signed a peace treaty that ended the war.

When the seventeen Aureliano's were grown, all but one were killed by a nameless assassin as a way to get back as Colonel Aureliano Buendia. The one who survived was Aureliano Amador, and he escaped into the jungle.

After long hard years and many more generations, only four Buendias were left: Aureliano Amador, José Arcadio II, Amaranta Úrsula, and Aureliano Babilonia. José Arcadio II and Aureliano Babilonia were living in the run down Buendia Residence when Aureliano Amador returned to Macondo to check on the family. They did not believe Aureliano Amador was part of their family, despite his atempt to reason with them, and they pushed him out of the house, where he was killed by the nameless assassin that killed the other sixteen Aurelianos.

José Arcadio II was eventually murdered by children seeking fortune, leaving Aureliano Babylonia by himself, who had decided to study the parchments the gypsy Melquíades had left behind before his death. According to the parchments, the only way to read them was to let them age one-hundred years.

Aureliano Babilonia eventually gave up on the parchments when his aunt, Amaranta Úrsula, returned to the Buendia Residence with her husband. Aureliano and Amaranta did not know they were related, so they had an affair, which caused Amaranta's husband to leave her.

When Amaranta Úrsula dies giving birth to their child and their baby is eaten by ants, Aureliano Babilonia deciphers the scrolls and discovers Melquíades knew the history of the Buendia before it had happened (the last line of the parchment being "The first of the line is tied to a tree and the last is being eaten by ants), and a giant storm swept Macondo out of existence.

Childhood

After deciding life in the jungle was not as great as he thought, Aureliano Amador returned to Macondo with his wife. Because he was still sought after by the nameless assassin, he kept a low profile. Eventually, Aureliano Amador and his wife, Ana Amador had a young son they named Aureliano Buendia after the Colonel. He was born fifteen years before the leaf storm.

Overall, Aureliano had a decent childhood. His father was very kind and intelligent and his mother was a caring and nurturing lady. His best friend was a mage called Melquíades XV, an extremely adept mage despite being the age of Aureliano (also a relative of the first Melquiades).

On Aureliano's fourteenth birthday, his father, Aureliano Amador, went back to the Buendia residence to check on the surviving Buendias, only to get kicked out by them and killed by the nameless assassin on his way home.

After a year, a mysterious leaf storm suddenly came and blew Macondo out of the map along with all its inhabitants.

Aureliano died, but his best friend, the young gypsy mage named Melquíades XV, revived him with a powerful spell that drained some of his own life force, and made him age three years. Melquíades XV told Aureliano their paths will cross again, and that the parchment that (the first) Melquíades wrote was blown all the way to Hyrule, where Aureliano was assured a better life.

So Aureliano traveled many miles and finally arrived, where he received Farore's Wind and learned the local language.

Present (In Hyrule)

Aureliano was very grateful that Hyrule took him under its wing, so he became a Vassal in order to protect Hyrule and the Royal Family. He is intelligent, loyal, and humble: Characteristics he acquired in Macondo. Aureliano can be quite charming when he wants to be, so he uses (or tries to use it) to his advantage. He is roughly seventeen, and has dark brown eyes, black hair, a Spanish accent, and a bronze skin tone. He retains the rather elongated and pointed ears of an average Hylian, however.

Aureliano carries a wooden sword bought from Quartermaster Hithos and a falcata he obtained from Melquiades XV's corpse. The young Hylian wears chainmail under a black shirt, along with baggy beige pants, unlike that Link, Hero of Time fellow. His hair is comfortable, so that it doesn't get in his way while fighting. He is currently attempting to retrieve the parchment Melquiades XV told him about in Young Hylian on a Stump.

Notes

  • Aureliano is a character made for the HA2. He is based on the book called 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He was never actually in the book, and I did not make the book.
  • The "Family History" section is a small portion of the plot from 100 Years of Solitude that is only used to explain how Aureliano came about and to give his background some support.
