Armos bear some similarity to Enchanted Armour, but are statues instead of suits of armor.
[edit] Appearance
Armos are statues that come in several varieties. They commonly have one eye and are exactly similar to several other statues that aren't alive. You can't tell the living from the non-living apart until you touch the statue--An Armos will soon start leaping after you in an attempt to crush you. They have been seen in several different forms--Sometimes they are egg-shaped and are beaten by being stunned by some sort of bright flash or explosion before being finished off, and other times they are able to be turned off by a minuscule switch inside. Since the switch can only be reached by the Minish, there are several rumors going around that the Minish created the stone sentries. In the Minish-created version, the statues more closely resemble a suit of armor, complete with a rectangular shield and spear, sometimes causing confusion with Enchanted Armour. The Minish version is defeated with constant attacks from any direction. Sometimes, there are exceptionally large Armos that have mouths that will open, and can be defeated by having a bomb thrown inside their mouth. A large Armos may also have glowing weak spots that it tries to hide, with can be punctured with sharp weapons like swords or arrows.
[edit] Intelligence
Since the statues seem to be a kind of security system, it's hard to argue that they have intelligence at all. However, they are able to tell who the intruder is and pursue them ruthlessly, and hide their weak spot from their enemy while they are at it. When they are on the brink of death, they take one last attempt at their foe's life by spinning and rushing madly towards their enemy before exploding.
[edit] Role
Armos are usually used to defend dungeons and other special areas and treasures, but lack the communication and thought ability required for positions of power. However, they say that a large group of Armos was once used to guard a dungeon's last room, although the hero Link defeated them using a bow.
