DIfferent species of wiki seem to have different text editing rules. So, why take the chance of typing something in here and assuming it'll work as you expect? There's a bank of buttons just above the text entry box on every editing page, and it'll do all the hard work for you. What's more, a description of each of these buttons is available on the page called Help:Contents in case trial and error just isn't your thing.
