Background
The Lee family consists only of two – the older brother, who raised the younger sister. When Rinali was young and Komui was in his middle teens, they lost their parents, and from then on it was up to the kind and overprotective elder sibling to take care of the little girl. They both worked their hardest, and because of their need for each other, they have a strong bond; Komui is so overprotective, however, that it is difficult to get near Rinali if you are a boy around her age.
Even though they endured hardship, Komui still managed to become the scientist he dreamed of being. A successful one, at that, and due to his work and research, the pair have travelled around the world together, Rinali working as his assistant. Deciding it was time they took some time for themselves, Komui put his research on hold and took a vacation with his younger sister to the quiet, rural town of Hinamizawa.
Naturally, they don’t know about the dark rumours. It’s just a cute little town, right?
