Active-Interface Systems

ZERO (Zoning & Emotional Range Omitted) System 3.0

A technology for interfacing the brain of the pilot with the mobile suit's computer, similar to a Bio-Sensor. This system would not only increase the pilot's reaction times as there are no need for traditional visual interfaces, but thanks to the advanced computations performed by the computer, the pilot can become aware of future outcomes and possible courses of action that can be taken to achieve total victory or total defeat. Due to the bidirectional nature of the system, the system had the negative side effect of creating hallucinations for those with poor mental strength. They system has side effects such as affecting the mood and thinking of the pilot from a feedback loop in the system. This can lead to temporary insanity.

Trace System

Upon entering the mobile fighter's cockpit, the pilot is wrapped in a form-fitting "fighting suit" made up of nanotechnology. The fighting suit monitors the pilot's motions and physical condition and relays this data to the mobile fighter's computer, which then mirrors the pilot's own movements. The surrounding environment is projected onto the walls of the 360-degree "virtual cockpit," and external conditions like physical obstructions and battle damage are transmitted back to the pilot via the fighting suit. The result is that the pilot operates the mobile fighter exactly as if it were his or her own body.

PX System

The PX System creates a temporary boost in a mobile suit's abilities and the pilot's reaction time, with pilots comparing it to the adrenaline rush experienced during strenuous activity. While in use, the PX System manifests itself as a bright glow suffusing the Mobile Weapon's body. As a result, the PX System is very taxing on the pilot and structure of the mecha. The system is programmed to shut down after a predetermined time period, only when altered against code can be kept on for extended periods of time. Doing this is considered extremely dangerous. Overuse of the system can result in damage to both the mobile suit's structure and the pilot's brain, and can result in sudden death.

Quasi-Psycommu System

This system actively scans the pilot's brainwaves, no matter how weak they are. This lets the computer translate the thoughts into commands to be issued to remote weapons. Using the quasi-psycommu even weak psychic newtypes, physical newtypes, and oldtypes can control simple remote weapons.

Basic Psychic System

Psycommu System (Psychic Amplifier)

A device connected directly into the user's thoughts, through which the user can manipulate it by using their mind. The name derives from psychic and communicator. It works by passively scanning the brainwaves of psychic newtypes, and then translating these brainwaves into raw machine codes. Receptors built in the frame enhances the system, alloying the ability to take brainwave input and increase the output of the mobile suit beyond its designed capacity. This allows a Newtype pilot to control the mobile suit as if it were his/her own body, rather than using physical controls, and also control other objects outside the suit, such as remote weaponry. (Also known under different titles, althought all advancements have been unified under the psycommu system.)

Advanced Psychic Systems

Bio-Sensor

A reverse psycommu system, where instead of reading the brainwaves of the pilot, it analyzed the data observed from the sensors, and then fed it directly to the pilot's brain. This system can be used by non-Newtypes, but it would create the same results of the Zero System. Only a Newtype can bring out the system's biggest potential.

Flash System

Similar to the Psycommu System, the Flash System allows a Psychic Newtype to remote control weapons like the bits, but the power of the system can go even further. While weaker level Newtypes or even mobile suits like the Bit Mobile Suits. The system also can record brainwaves of Newtypes in range of the suit, which are stored in fast-access flash memory (giving the system its name). When called upon, this data increases overall pilot performance, but doing so hampers the ability to control remote weapons and Mobile Suits.
