Jacqueline is an attractive, strong willed and intelligent businesswoman, also being very cold and devious at the same time. Born into privilege, she has always been used to getting what she wanted. She married equally privileged David and helped him build a chain of department stores. Along the way, they had three children who were raised by part time by nannies and spent most of their grade school years at boarding schools in Europe. Do to Jacqueline and David’s significant absence during their children’s formative years, their relationships were somewhat strained. When David passed on, she was placed right in the forefront of the corporation that was built with some of her own vision. She was more than ready to become CEO, having groomed herself for years to be an executive. Jacqueline was raised in a family of old money who made their fortune in the textile manufacturing business. In her early years, Jacqueline attended the finest schools, gaining a valuable education.
When she turned 18, she decided to study merchandising in New York. It was at this time she met the ambitious, intelligent David Marriot. David came from privilege also, being the son of a hotelier. At first, she wasn’t fond of him, but eventually they grew close. Each of they’re parents agreed that they shouldn’t be married until they finished school. Upon graduation, David and Jacqueline marry and with a loan from David’ father, they start a department store. They struggle in the first year, but by the second year have established a broad clientele.
As the company rapidly grew, Jacqueline quickly became a jet set designer of the store’s in house fashion and home decor lines. Eventually, McGregor Stores became the main competitor of Marriott and so began a long rivalry. When we meet Jacqueline, she’s more determined than ever to bring down the McGregor empire, for personal and professional reasons, one reason being her belief that Anna is brainwashing JC against her. She’ll also have to deal with the return of her rebellious son Cody and the repercussions of his gambling problem. All in and all, Jacqueline is powerful and wealthy tycoon trying to make up for lost time and build strong bonds with her family, the kind that she never had when she was growing up.
