<Greenling> Later that night... after you got your shiny tattooes...
<Greenling> Hel is being, uh, trained. Where are the other two of you?
Mirra will avail herself of any books the crazy old guy may have which seem potentially relevant.
Reed is mostly trying to decide what to do with Lion in the near future. After putting Lion to bed, he heads off to find a quiet place to think.
<Greenling> There are a number of papers on the Wyld. Il Seraph would even be happy to point them out to you, given.
<Greenling> Reed... well, there's a bunch of random spots, Adamant is probably enjoying the booze stash, anywhere near the vaguely dojo-looking area is being taken up by screams of various kinds, Kairos is on the opposite side of the Manse from that...
<Greenling> Then of course, there's the library.
<Reed> The library sounds good. Quiet, peaceful, and he won't be tempted to drink there. Hopefully, at least -- who knows with Seraph.
<Greenling> Seraph is off someplace being sneaky, it seems.
<Reed> Reed heads to the library to poke around, then.
<Greenling> Meanwhile, Hel. What does Hel need work on, hmm?
<Hel> Hel needs to work on not getting beaten by his crazy mentor. :C
Mirra glances up to Reed, giving him a slight nod and smile.
<Greenling> Isn't it great this is an Earth Manse? Otherwise it might be a problem if Hel were slammed into the walls three times in succession.
Hel loves his mentor very much.
<Hel> It is the kinetic force kind of love.
<Reed> Reed smiles slightly at Mirra. "Doing a bit of research?"
Mirra gives a slight nod. "Well, brushing up at least." She closes the book, hming softly. "And you?"
<Greenling> Eventually, she gets bored of trying to teach Hel actual combat, and decides to try to teach him to shapeshift faster.
<Hel> These training regimes are strangely similar.
<Reed> "Mostly just wandering aimlessly." Reed shurgs, running his fingers over the spines of the books. "I'm trying to decide what would be best for Lion."
<Greenling> She lectures him on how many delicious creatures there are in the Wyld and how fun it is to try to rip the heart out of a giant egg-sloth made of slime.
<Greenling> Blade. Where is Blade?
<Greenling> Salith is watching Hel and Ocean, at the moment.
<Greenling> Ocean seems to be ignoring her.
Joyous_Blade is watching the training. And smoking.
Mirra hms softly, browsing the sheles as well in search of something appropriate.
<Greenling> "...Pfft."
<Greenling> Ocean trips Hel.
Hel stays down.
<Reed> "Anything in particular you're looking for? I could help."
<Greenling> Ocean pokes Hel with her foot. "You're hopeless. Let's set you up with someone more your style."
<Greenling> "Hey, Sidereal. Blue one." She looks at Blade. "Can you fight?"
<Joyous_Blade> "A little. Why?"
<Greenling> "Perfect. Why don't you help my little apprentice here? I can make it worth your while." That is the most godawful grin you have ever seen.
<Joyous_Blade> "...How so?"
Mirra shakes her head. "Nothing in particular.  I thought I might help you look."
<Greenling> "Well hey, what would you want?"
Hel frowns and stares at Ocean from a swollen black eye. "But I was hoping you'd train me more ma'am..."
<Greenling> Griin.
<Greenling> "Get the little pervert off me, and all. You should have more fun with that."
<Hel> :C
<Joyous_Blade> "...What?"
<Greenling> "What?" She's confused now.
<Joyous_Blade> "Huh?"
<Greenling> "...Okay, have fun!" Perk. She leaves.
<Greenling> "Kaaaaiiiiroooos~"
<Joyous_Blade> "...Venus chained and spanked, what is *her* major malfunction?"
<Hel> "What?"
<Joyous_Blade> "What?"
<Greenling> Salith sighs.
<Greenling> The library is sparkly and full of books.
<Greenling> Eventually, Seraph comes in. He looks mildly haggard and shirtless. He also doesn't seem to notice Reed or Mirra.
<Joyous_Blade> "Oh, hey Seraph."
Mirra glances over to Seraph, waving in greeting as the other enters the library that is not the dojo
<Greenling> "Muh." The Lunar blinks and looks over to Mirra.
<Greenling> "Oh, hello."
<Greenling> "...What're you two in here for?"
<Reed> ...Reed had seen far more awkward things than that, probably. At some point. He rubs the back of his neck. "Hi, Seraph."
<Greenling> "I would'e expected you to have snuck off somewhere less... academic by now." He rummages through a shelf.
Mirra gives a slight shrug. "Peace.  Quiet.  Reading materials." She gives a soft chuckle at that.
<Greenling> "Isn't that always fun..." he grumbles.
<Reed> Reed raises an eyebrow, flipping through one of the books.
<Joyous_Blade> "Crazy lady has been being crazy, I take it?"
<Mirra> [Blade was watching Hel's training,r ight?]
<Joyous_Blade> (Yes)
<Mirra> [Hel was in the Dojo.  Seraph entered the Library.  On a rough map, it goes something like
<Mirra> [(Dojo) ------------------------------------------------------------- (Library)
<Joyous_Blade> (Ah)
<Greenling> Salith shrugs. "So now what?"
<Joyous_Blade> "Dunno. Go and find Seraph, I guess."
<Greenling> She shrugs again and walks over to Hel, crouching down beside him. "Are you going to lie?"
<Greenling> (*live)
Hel nods. "She didn't even break any bones."
<Greenling> "Heh." She extends a hand to Hel.
<Greenling> "Why do you like her so much?"
Hel grabs Salith's hand and pulls himself up. "I don't understand."
Mirra hms softly, stretching out as she made her way out, scratching lightly at the augmented filigree-like tattoos along her arms.  She didn't like being unable to see the sky for a long period of time, anyway.
<Greenling> "Humor me. Why do you act like you like her and enjoy her training?"
<Greenling> "That's not how most people would react, you know?"
<Hel> "She cares for me."
<Greenling> Mirra can find a way out easily enough, whether outside or to the balcony.
Mirra makes her way onto a balcony, relaxing in the cool air.
<Greenling> The moon is waning and the stars are bright. The balcony looks out towards the Wyld and the Pole of Air, though it seems to have shifted slightly from its location earlier today.
<Greenling> Salith looks into Hel's eyes and tilts her head slightly. "It's true that her feelings for you seem to be constant..."
Hel quirks an ear. "What does that mean?"
<Greenling> It's getting pretty cold outside. Heck, it's getting chilly inside, in parts.
<Greenling> Salith crosses her hands behind her back. "Probably nothing. So... you've known Kairos...?" She smiles at Hel.
<Hel> "Indeed."
<Greenling> "If you don't mind... what do you think of him?"
Mirra stretches out, taking her war form, black rosette spots developing along arms and legs as she lounges, inured to the chill due to her favorite form.
Hel shrugs. "He seems ...fragile."
<Greenling> Snow leopard Mirra lays on the balcony.
<Greenling> Back at the library... "So how have you been, Reed?"
<Reed> "About as can be expected, I supposed." Reed flips through one of the books. "Given the circumstances, at least."
<Greenling> "Do me a favor- be a little more vague?" Seraph finds a chair and sits down, flipping through a pair of books.
<Greenling> He grumbles under his breath. "And how is Lion? He's growing like a weed."
<Greenling> Meanwhile, Mirra feels snow land on her face.
<Reed> "He's happy enough, but he keeps bringing up his mother. I haven't spoken to her in years."
<Greenling> Salith looks at Hel. "I want to show you something. Come with me?" She smiles.
Hel nods. "Alright."
Mirra opens her eyes, glancing up.  Snow.  She stretches and hmms, gracefully climbing up the side of the manse to take a look around before going back in...
<Greenling> "Ah... he is a curious child."
<Greenling> "Do you plan on explaining things to him at some point?"
<Reed> "Of course. I just don't think he's old enough to understand at five."
<Greenling> Mirra can see a very long way from here- snow falling down from the sky to land on rippling fields and evergreen forests. There are a few villages dotting the way, and the tiny silver strands of roads.
<Greenling> Something strange is moving at the edge of the horizon. Something Mirra can barely make out...
<Greenling> It looks like something really really big is floating. Or sinking. Or both.
Mirra hms softly, ears folding back as she leans forward a bit, eyes narrowing some.  That's odd.  She tried to make out what it was.
<Greenling> Seraph looks over at Reed. "I suppose not."
<Greenling> Mirra: It's... damn. An... well it doesn't look like your typical giant monster, but that's kind of hard to tell in the Wyld. It's definitely moving on an air current, though lots of things do that in the North.
Mirra hms softly, making her way back in to inform the others for next session.
<Greenling> Salith takes Hel through the halls of the Manse and back to that room with all the huge stained-glass windows.
<Greenling> The pictures have shifted again...
<Greenling> She walks over to the one in the middle. "Where are you from, Hel?"
<Hel> "I don't know."
Hel does not feel comfortable with this line of questioning. Perhaps because this one talked even less than he did.
<Greenling> "What do you remember?" She asks him with a soft look on her face.
Hel clenched a fist. "Why?"
<Greenling> She looks away. "I don't mean to anger you."
<Greenling> She touches one of the plates.
<Greenling> The scene shifts to a broad ice plate, where a small bearded man is hauling a huge bag behind him; to a cozy little village inn in a desert, where a boy, a barbarian, an aged man, and a cute catgirl seem to be having dinner; to a fanciful jade ship in the West, sailing out from port.
<Greenling> "From here, you can see any place you've been before." She smiles.
<Hel> "I see."
Hel does not actually see.
<Greenling> "Do you want to try it?"
Hel nods at the siderial. "I'll try it."
<Greenling> "Just touch that panel there and think of something."
<Greenling> She steps aside.
<Greenling> What *is* Blade doing, anyway?
<Joyous_Blade> She is looking for Lion.
<Hel> He puts a hand to the big plate and tries to remember something. Well something other than that night which in Hel's limited but vivid memory is currently the worst night of all of them.
<Greenling> Lion is in Reed's room.
<Jabu_Jabu> Jabu Jabu is floating around Lion, making little bubbles for the boy to pop.
Mirra hms at Reed's conspicuous absence from the library, making her way to his room instead.
<Greenling> The boy is supposed to be in bed, but he's enjoying the fishie. Pop. Pop. Hee.
Joyous_Blade smiles softly, waving.
<Greenling> Reed is... absent.
<Greenling> Lion's eyes get wide and he dives under the covers when he sees Blade.
<Greenling> Squirm, squirm.
Jabu_Jabu looks about confused, then goes "meep!" when he sees the Sid and vanishes under the covers with Lion
Joyous_Blade snickers. "Don't worry, I'm not going to report you."
<Greenling> He peers out from under the covers.
<Greenling> "Hi."
<Joyous_Blade> "Hey."
Mirra slips past Blade in her animal form, snow leopard hopping up onto the foot of the bed and giving Lion a knowing little stare.
<Greenling> He sits up. "Dad's not here. I think he's looking for Miss- oh!"
<Greenling> He falls back under the covers, grinning. "Uhmmm."
Jabu_Jabu peeks out, goes O.o upon seeing big kitty, then hides again
Mirra paws lightly at the fish-shaped lump, before taking her human form sitting at the bed, wrapped in her cloak.  "I see Reed hasn't been by to tuck you in."
<Joyous_Blade> "So, who wants to learn Five Maidens?" She pulls out a deck of cards.
Mirra gives Blade a slightly sour look.  "If he doesn't sleep right he won't feel good in the morning.  You can teach him the game tomorrow."
<Greenling> "...What's Five Maidens?"
<Greenling> Lion pets the fish.
<Joyous_Blade> "Card game. But Mirra is right, you should go to sleep."
<Greenling> "Aww. I thought you said you weren't gonna report me."
<Greenling> The scene shifts in front of Hel. Strange madness... scenes of cackling figures and shifting forms... flame and green bile...
<Joyous_Blade> "Oh, no, I'm not."
<Joyous_Blade> "That doesn't mean you shouldn't be asleep, though."
Hel does not like this machine.
Mirra gives him a grin, tousling his hair a bit. "She said she wouldn't, but I didn't make any sort of promise like that... but if you're good and go to bed, I won't have to tell Reed, either."
<Jabu_Jabu> "Will stay with if you like."  Little fishy grin at Lion.
<Greenling> "Mip. I wasn't doing anything!" Lion slips under the covers. "I'll go. Thank you Miss Mirra."
<Greenling> He smiles at the fish. "If you want."
<Greenling> The glass shudders and sticks on the frame of an impossibly tall figure with golden hair and a sly smile.
<Greenling> He looks down at Hel... seeming to look straight into his eyes, straight into his soul...
<Jabu_Jabu> "Okies!"  Jabu-Jabu snuggles with Lion under the covers.
<Hel> :C
<Greenling> The glass makes a deep *thudCLONK* and goes white.
Joyous_Blade giggles.
<Greenling> Salith is staring at the glass with an expression somewhere between 'oh hell yeah' and 'wtf'.
<Greenling> Hel feels... like he knows that guy. This may either be a really nice feeling or a strangely violating feeling. Possibly both. It is Hel.
<Hel> "I'm done."
<Greenling> "Should I apologize?" she asks.
<Greenling> Lion hugs the fishie.
<Jabu_Jabu> ^^
Hel shrugs and leaves the viewing room.
<Greenling> Salith smiles and goes the other way.
<Greenling> Lion attempts sleep.
<Greenling> Is everyone going to bed, or doing something else?
Mirra smiles. "What he doesn't know won't hurt him." She pats his head and heads off to her room.
<Jabu_Jabu> Zzzz...
Hel makes sure no one is around before shifting into his spirit shape and curling up somewhere hard to reach.
Joyous_Blade goes to her own room.
<Greenling> Hard to reach, hard to reach... ... On top of a shelf in the library, or between wine racks.
<Hel> Wine racks it is! It isn't like anyone in this group has shown any overt alcoholic tendencies.
<Greenling> It is cool and humid in here.
