Czarina Aubrecia Finer Things

History

Czarina Aubrecia was born to privilege. Her father, Eyvan, is the owner of the second largest ironwood trader in the East, and Czarina is his sole heir and his business partner. She is privileged to reside in some of the wealthiest areas in Nexus, Great Forks, and Grayfalls with her family. She was privileged to the high class education of Dynasts. She is privileged with a gaggle of friends, with stunning features, and with high class taste in jewelry and clothes. She was also blessed by Luna, who had chosen her to keep order and control after Czarina had refused to let her mother get away with trying to ruin her father's business.

To Eyvan, his wife and daughter were little more than tax shelters. His daughter's education, their lavish wardrobes, expensive jewelry, and parties were all written off as business expenses. His marriage to Oksana was one of convenience for both of them, one of the main reasons they only had one child. The two females made Eyvan look like a benevolent and caring businessman, and in return they minded their own business unless he called on them. For Czarina this arrangement made sense, everyone had their place and their duties. So long as everyone followed the path and did as they were told, everyone would benefit. After exalting overhearing the betrayal of Eyvan by Oksana, Czarina approached her mother with a deal. She would agree to keep the black market sales and thefts under wraps if her mother not only gave her half the profits but also turn over a selection of Oksana's jewelry—including any future pieces she might acquire from her husband. Faced with public humiliation and the threat of being turned out on the streets of Nexus with nothing, Oksana had relented.

The moment her mother thought she was safe from her husband, Czarina went to her father, revealing the entire deal and agreeing to happily hand over the portion of profits she received from her mother to her father if he agreed to let the deals keep going under the table. Although he was skeptical, Czarina convinced him that a slow pincering off of her mother's power and a shift to his daughter was better for everyone involved. Eyvan agreed, knowing he could kick them both out if they betrayed him. His trust with his daughter was well placed, in the span of a few months Czarina's control on Oksana had made her too much a liability to her black market connections and the deals were ended. By the end of the year, Oksana was little more than a ghost in her wing of their home, the public cared more about her daughter. Blackmailing her mother and making a secret deal with her father to isolate the treacherous woman had been laughably easy with her exaltation, and had set the tone for the decade after the blessing. Her exaltation had not made her cruel, but had given her a deeper appreciation for place and position. The strong would survive, the weak would be consumed and the world would be better for it. Her mother was weak, it was as simple as that.

Life With the Upper Crust

A creature of the limelight with a desire for not only melodrama but also an obsession for control, Czarina's high class friends are nearly constantly around her, a gaggle of drones that feed her the best news and gossip. There is very little of the personal lives of the high classes she does not know about. Some of which she has pursued personally, some of which has been merely an interesting piece of conversation. Czarina is a blackmailer, but she prefers to think of herself as a blackmailer with class and style. She has no real need for money, petty revenge on mortals that she will out live provides only a short thrill (as was the case of her mother), and she has little need to blackmail mates. Instead Czarina blackmails for control of the drones around her. Some must pay, some need only to feed her more information. The payment is merely a perk, the control is Czarina's real prize.

In her mind any attention is good attention and she flaunts the latest trinket, dress item, or lover flamboyantly. Her string of short flings is well known and follows no real particular pattern: actors, athletes, fellow debutantes, merchants or businessmen, designers, musicians, politicans, doctors, scholars, or anything else that catches her fancy so long as he is currently the most popular thing, she will be seen out with them. Sometimes these lovers remain in her Inner Circle after the affair no longer amuses her, but being part of her Inner Circle is incredibly demanding. To remain in her good graces one must be willing to obey her and support or quickly changing whims and passions. Anyone who does not is unceremoniously snubbed, not matter how long they have been part of her Inner Circle. Czarina has shown little concern with one of her former drones lashing back, after all she has information on them too.

Despite her unfettered selfishness, Czarina passionately supports charities and foundations that keep people working and supports ideals such as self-determination. After all people working mean people making money and buying things. Tribes constantly arguing over ancient land rights sometimes help, but frequently hurt her father's business. She also firmly supports expanding civilization further into the Eastern Wyld and bringing static civilization to the Wyld. For these causes she holds lavish fund raising events and takes heavily publicized charity trips.

Life After Luna

Czarina lives her life in the limelight, but there are two parts of her life that she has kept secret. First, her exaltation has been kept under wraps. Although it has granted her many wonderful abilities, and she is hardly embarrassed by it or buys into the idea that she has been possessed by a demon, it would ruin her to be exposed. Her high position and money will not buy off the Wyld Hunt, and her fall from grace would ruin her father's business. She is a member of the Silver Pact and has a casual association with the Winding Path, but Czarina is in a delicate situation and her direst aid to the causes of either come second to the needs of her father's business or her own personal interests. As a result she does not carry a high rank in the Silver Pact, but some of the Winding Path see how advantageous her seamless blending into civilization can be for them. When Czarina went through her trials, there was little doubt in anyones mind that she was a Waning moon as she passed her tests through trickery and lies. When she completed them she was tattooed with moonsilver filigree stripes from her neck to the small of her back and over the tops of her thighs. She was only slightly surprised when the Winding Path offered her a position as an agent. Although it has been a decade since she exalted, she still is ranked as an agent since she is not fully dedicated to the Winding Path, and because her elders are disappointed in the incredible failure of her actions with her second secret.

Her second secret is her Solar mate. He is far below her in social class, which is more than enough of a reason to keep him secret after his exalted status but for Czarina there is a more personal reason to keep him a secret: she can not control him. He is constantly leaving for one rescue or another of a childhood friend, leaving her behind. Although she has been almost thankful for this type of nonchalant attitude with other lovers, with him it irks her. She complies quietly with his insistence on leaving because her bond to him is stronger than she will let him know, and disobeying his requests is against the bond—but she hates it. Pretending he means nothing to her but trinkets and sex is convenient for both of them, but for her is a false notion. She is always in her most waspish temper when he leaves. When she can she arranges her voyages out of the city to coincide with his trips so she has something else to think about besides him.

And All the Rest

Czarina, when she is not assuming the form of someone or something else, is a lovely creature. Heavy blue black hair worn in thick sausage curls frames an oval face the color of pale honey in the sun and a peaches and cream complexion. Her favorite, and arguably most stunning feature, is her large violet eyes which she inherited from her father. Her exaltation changed her appearance slightly; her nails, both fingers and toes, alternate black and yellow, shimmering faintly on her back is the imprint of gossamer insect wings, and her once normal sized waist has been sucked into waspish proportions, giving her the rough measurements of 36-18-36. Taking a perverse delight in this part, Czarina wears tightly laced corsets, simply because they have little effect on her.

Her wardrobe favors tones of flames and flowers with reds, golds, blues, purples, pinks, and whites. Most of her clothes are cut in the latest Realm styles, though she has enough pieces to be culturally sensitive wherever she goes in the Scavenger Lands. Her jewelry collection is her second favorite collection to build up (the first being information) and it is certainly impressive. Her pride and joy of her collection is the largest green diamond ever yet mined known as the Heart of the East. Cut into the shape of a heart, the diamond is set in an elaborate golden tiara. Czarina has never worn the diamond in public since she swore to herself there was only one time she would do so—her wedding day.

Established as her own social force in Nexus, Czarina resides at her own home in the city, though she has free access to any of her father's other properties in the city, Grayfalls, or Great Forks. She frequently leaves the city to act for her father as a business liaison so he can enjoy his semi-retirement. When she can arrange it her trips outside the city also let her work for the Winding Path and keep her from thinking about how her mate is off rescuing someone else. For her trips out she usually does not travel with friends, making it easier if she needs to slip away to do Luna's work, but her status still requires her to travel with a few followers. For appearance sake she keeps them around and travels like a wealthy mortal, but even with her preferred weapons of social manipulation, she is able to defend herself and she has enough forms to let her outrun her caravans if she needs to.

Artifacts

The Madness of Honeysuckle The Madness of Honeysuckle was once owned by an Abyssal wandering the East. He had the unfornuate duty of trying to stop the heiress from taking over an ironwood forest. Not expecting a lunar, the Abyssal was destroyed and she took his weapon as a personal trophy. The hearthstone setting is kept empty.

For the cost of one health level, Madness of Honeysuckle will spray a fan of enraged wasps at her attackers. The fan is 30 feet wide and 10 feet long. The wasps remain in action, stinging anything in their path for one turn before disappearing. Otherwise mechanically treated like Death of Obsidian Butterflies.

Attunment 5, Soulsteel bonus n/a

Heart's Blood

Fire Wasp (spirit shape): A creature that breeds true from the Wyld, the small dog sized Fire Wasp resides in hives in the south. Like most wasps, they're fine until disturbed. THe sting is one problem, the swarm of flaming flying bugs is another. Mechanics as Ichneumon Hunter.

Mink: A small fierce creature with a luxurious pelt. Czarina had a purse made out of the creature after Hunting it.

Falcon: A swift and stealthy creature that doesn't lit on fire.

Jaguar: A sleek hunting cat option for a fight.

Items

Czarina owns many things, but in general travels with several changes of fine clothes, a sizeable collection of her jewelery (though never the Heart), The Madness of Honeysuckle, and any important documents she will need from business missives to letters and blackmail evidence.
