Alternate pipe glitch

From the game Super Mario Bros. for the NES.
If you are doing level 8-4, it is faster to go throught the first correct pipe. Then, once you get to the next area of the castle, run to just before the large lava pit, and turn back to go into the pipe before it. You cannot normally go through that pipe to take the right path, but it saves a little time.
