Lloyd MacCuaig
From Glengarryceltic
Lloyd, an accomplished pianist followed in the footsteps of his mother, Edna (MacMillan) MacCuaig, who was also a favourite pianist for many local musicians. Since a young age, his heart was always in the art of Scottish music, whether accompanying a violin or playing solo.Lloyd could be considered a perfectionist; he is very particular that the music be played exactly the way it is written.
Lloyd placed first in piano competition. He played at Bob’s Hotel in Dalhousie for a number of Scottish fiddlers and played the church organ for a number of years in many local churches. Since its inception in the early 1980s, Lloyd has been the mainstay of the Lochiel Strings as their accompanist and music planner. With the group and on his own, he entertains at local seniors homes, the Glengarry Memorial Hospital, socials and anywhere else they are invited.
