Elmer "Dougie" MacDonald
Elmer "Dougie" MacDonald was born in 1933 at McCrimmon West–Kenyon Township. He learned basic chords from his mother on the pump organ, at a young age. In 1948 he started playing piano at dances and socials with the Skye, MacCrimmon, and MacDonald Orchestras.

Elmer played bass guitar for the Glen Orchestra and Glengarrians in the 1960s, and played at local hotels on the weekends in the 1970s. He also played bass with Glengarry Old Time Fiddlers for a number of years.
