General Information
Mr.Gav (also known as Gavin1701 is a well known member on the Filefront Gaming Forums. He is from England, UK. He first registered on the forums back on April 17th, 2006 to ask a question about Star Trek Armada 2. Since then he has become very active and at this date has 4229 posts. His first ventures on the forum were in the Star Trek forum, however, he started to venture out of them in September 06. He then became very well known in May 2007 when he made a thread regarding the return of IRC. He is now known by many of the forum staff, notably the awesome Knippschild (whom retired from the forum staff in July 07) and the weird and wonderful, Admiral Donutz. His reputation has since grown and will no doubt continue to do so.
Who Knows Him
He is known by several other well known members and also known by several moderators and Super Moderators. He has gained the respect of many of the forum staff, just for his attitude towards things. He also has a thing about stalking Knippschild, Admiral Donutz and funnily enough, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ANZACSAS has also shown some love to him.
Other members whom know him for whatever reason are; -Section-, Book, Chris, darkclone, FileTrekker, Lord Anubis, Sheepeep, Stewie, Tycoon the stig etcetera, naming just a select few.
Known For
He won the award in 2006 for Best Newbie, coming in second place after Jill. He became famous more so in May 2007 with his IRC thread, and his thread regarding the FileFront logo, which he edited to more suit the site at the time, which was encountering problems with the dreaded post jumps.
He was also known for running the forum/website Gamesters-Paradise from March-September 2007, but the site was destroyed by the main administrator before anyone had a chance to find out what was going on. More information regarding this can be found here.
AzH kindly donated a vBulletin license to Gavin during this period, where he used it to create a new forum called Parlancia, which he is most notably known for running. Parlancia was launched on September 19th, 2007 and has been successful since.
Network & Forum Staff
He was added to the FileFront Network Staff on 17th March, 2007 on the Grand Theft Auto Network site. He was then added to the staff at Legacy Files and was then given the Site Manager position at Star Wars Battlefront Files. He became a forum moderator on June 9th, 2007 for one forum. He was then given access to another forum and then another.
He retired from the Network Staff on September 1st, 2007 as he felt he wasn't doing as much as he should for the Network sites he worked at.
His Unorthodox Attitude
Gav has a slight tendency to get extremely uptight when moderating his forums. His approach to moderating is a little unorthodox; he says what he feels without a care in the world about the consequences of it. Though, his way of moderating works and gets the job done, similar to the moderating techniques of *SW3D3* and perhaps AzH.
He's also known for getting extremely jealous at the most trivial things.
His bad temper can sometimes get the better of him and has placed him in some regrettable situations since becoming a staff member on the forums; causing a few run-ins with the higher ups, both in public and behind closed doors. He also fell victim to a rude member known as Echonomix back in August 2007 (see the Gamesters-Paradise thread) and his attitude successfully managed to pwn Echonomix before he was temp-banned.
Famous Threads
Gav has also been known for a few of his threads; each having a short story behind them.
The Return Of IRC - During May 2007, Gavin made more of an appearance on FileFront's IRC channel. He had some interesting chats there and thought a thread was necessary to store them in. The thread caused a large increase in activity on the IRC channel for much of the month, throughout June and July. Fun times were had in IRC with other members, notably [Knippschild]], Admiral Donutz and Sheepeep. The activity somewhat dropped as Gav became more busy with other things. real life included. The other blame for a lack of activity in the FileFront IRC channel was Sheepeep's newly created IRC network; of which Gav is a part of.
New Look - This is quite possibly one of Gav's most famous threads. It contained a replica copy of the FileFront logo that had been modified to spell out 'Back To Front' - referring to the state of the forums at this time (May 2007). Unfortunately, the logo was hosted on the Gamesters-Paradise server and was lost when the administrator closed the site down. The post had to be edited by Lord Anubis to update the link several weeks before.
Just A Tip - The story behind this relates to boredom. Gav was watching Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory and decided to caption a screen shot from one of the scenes. It raised a few eyebrows to say the least.
Chu Chu Lovely Muni Muni Mura Mura Purin Purin Boron Nurururerorero - The tongue twister title of a song from Maximum The Hormone. He was put to the test to speak it out perfectly by another member, but was having trouble. The song is however worth listening to; numerous amounts of times over.
The Cool British Club - Gav revived the trend of country threads on June 1st, 2007 with this British Club, which was ironically 'cooler' than the other country threads. It didn't last as long as expected however; dying out sometime in late August due to some arrogant comments by the American hating Radicalmonkeyhead. Gav then re-bumped the thread on December 10th.
First Thread - This was Gav's first ever thread on the forums, and also his first ever post. It was made the day he joined and shows how much of a newbie he used to be - using an excessive amount of punctuation marks and smilies; oh lawd.

Gav has been through a lot of unofficial name changes. He has been known as some of the strangest names.
Bueno - A name given to Gav in March 2007 by Sheepeep.
Gav - An abbreviation of Gavin and his official nickname.
Gavin1701 - His user name upon registering on the forums.
Gavvy - A name given to Gav in June 2007. A shortened form "Gavy" was also given to him by -Section.
gen0cide - An early Internet user name of Gav's brought back in November 2007.
KentDuckyFriedBueno - An hilarious anecdote surrounds this user name; given to Gav by Sheepeep.
End of an Era
On May 1st 2008, Gav retired from the forum staff and had planned to never return to Gaming Forums, before being coaxed into staying by Sovereign002. He was made an advanced member by Admin Vote a week later.
