Korah, a Type A/Type F star, lays at the center of the Korah system.
The Gephqua are located on the fifth planet (Eirh) in the Korah System, named after its sun, Korah. Korah is a blue-white star about 2.3 times the mass of Sol and about 3.4 times as luminous, and burns at about 11,400 degrees Fahrenheit (about 6,370 degrees Celsius).

[edit] The Planets

There are 8 planets in the Korah System.

The Korah System. From left to right: Korah, Adesh, Shekh, Nehm, Qesh, Eirh, Taphbaht, Makh, and Qorum.

Adesh, meaning “fire”, was once a gas giant orbiting around Korah, over the eons it slowly grew closer toward the sun, as it did so its thick atmosphere was burned away and consumed by the star until all that was left remaining was an incredibly hot core of molten rock and metal. Due to Adesh’s proximity to Korah it remains in a continuously molten state. Adesh used to have a number of moons, however most of the smaller moons were most likely flung into Korah or out into space, two of its moons have since become planets.

Shekh, meaning “wasteland”, was once one of the moons of Adesh but due to the forces which eventually stripped Adesh of its atmosphere also flung two of its moons into their own orbits around Korah. Shekh is a hot barren rocky world with few interesting features and barely any atmosphere. Shekh has no natural satelites.

Nehm, meaning “toxic”, was, like Shekh, one of the moons of Adesh before its atmosphere was stripped away. Nehm is a truly inhospitable world, unlike its sister Shekh, Nehm has a thick toxic atmosphere mostly composed of radon, sulfer and carbon monoxide, massive electrical storms flare up within the thick toxic, volatile clouds, the result is the appearance as though the planet is on fire. Nehm has one moon, a small asteroid which was caught into orbit sometime in the ancient past.

Qesh, meaning “mists”, is termed a “gas dwarf” as opposed to the gas giants. Qesh has a thick rose-brown colored atmosphere, but do its dark color it is rarely visible from Eirh. Qesh as three moons.

Eirh, meaning “soil” or “land”, is the home of the Gephqua and all native life in the Korah system. Located far enough away from the sun to be cool enough to make life possible but not as far as the outermost planets which are too cool to sustain life. Even so Eirh is a warm, temperate world with no discernable polar icecaps, making its arctic and antarctic zones quite temperate, indeed the “twilight belt”, as these regions are called, have full grassy fields and beautiful snowcapped mountains. The planet is covered mostly in shallow seas and deep blue oceans, i.e. about 85% of the planet is covered in water. Varying climate zones on the various landmasses range from tropical to sub-tropical savannahs, lush tropical and temperate forests, swamplands and in a few cases desert in some locations; however Eirh is a largely wet world. Eirh has one moon, Rona, a brown rocky sphere.

Taphbaht, meaning “rings”, is the first among the truly outer planets, a large purple gas giant with an atmosphere mostly composed of xenon and krypton. What makes Taphbaht stand out the most are its large, pronounced rings, from which it gets its name.
