My firm recently decided to upgrade its bookkeeping plans. While the office manager in a uncomfortable position, although it will probably improve performance in the future, but currently, I am put by it.

Over the years, several bookkeeping programs have been tryed by the firm, but finally settled on Quickbooks, which frankly speaking, I'm quite indifferent to, but have gotten accustomed to it in the last few years. We may very well maybe not know the fellow that took the decision to consider a fresh accounting program; but it really was a wrong decision.

There was nothing wrong in the prevailing bookkeeping plan, and establishing a one was created new dilemmas, that has was never envisaged. First, every thing had to be recorded to the brand new accounting plans, and with this task, the manager hired a computer expert, who also were his daughter.

The job involved writing a macro that will transform most of the files from the old bookkeeping programs to the new one, and unfortunately, the project failed- exactly like every thing the boss and his family do, on the top of this is the issue of lack of compatibility between the QuickBooks and the new bookkeeping programs, which was some sort of public access thing that was obviously created by Linux geeks in their spare time. It is not a user friendly interface, though it's very stable and well coded.

Obviously I bore the brunt of the whole thing, so I had to learn how to operate this design free, all text software, before entering the old bookkeeping plan data. Of course the new plan is more secure, and perhaps faster, nevertheless the place is it is boring and has a longer period to master.

Even now that I've a full understanding of it, I still prefer among the bookkeeping programs where I can click a couple of designs and maybe not bother about keyboard shortcuts.

I resent this new plan because I will have to utilize it throughout the day, so I think I deserve some thing pleasant to interact and work with.

But it seems no one is thinking about that, as long as it is free, fast, and occupies less hard drive space, then it will do just fine.
