- Guitars: Selmer Modèle Jazz (later changed to 'Modèle Django Reinhardt') (solid French spruce top, Indian rosewood body, walnut neck, ebony fingerboard); Django used a n°503 Selmer from 1940 to 1952. He also used a n°704 beginning in 1948.
- Other: He used light silk-and-steel strings (10-46), and the thickest guitar picks he could find, usually made with natural tortoise shell.
