Fluff Information

Physical Description

Tyrmin is slightly taller than average for a westerner, topping out at an even 6’. His skin is barely the golden brown of most westerners, due to his long years without seeing the sun in his various jobs, and his deep purple hair has one lock dyed a brilliant white in devotion to his Maiden, and is cut off at length. He now moves with an unconscious grace thanks to years of concentrated training by his Sifu, but the physical strength promised by his frame has yet to develop due to his long years focused on intellectual pursuits.

Personality

Tyrmin is a relatively quiet man, taking after both his Sifu and his penultimate Division head, though he is quite willing to speak up when he believes it is necessary. He is a compassionate man, especially to those of lower station. Towards those who abuse their authority, however, he displays only a cold anger that, while normally kept in check, has the potential to overcome his restraint. Its also worth pointing out that he has a tendency to collect and carry a wide number of talismans and occult artifacts, much in the same way the people of Coral collected occult trinkets, though Tyrmin allows at least a small concession towards practicality in terms of what he carries.

The current necessities of the Night Sky Regime have left Tyrmin in a state of near-constant frustration

History

Tyrmin had the fortune, or rather destiny, to be born into the family of a wealthy bureaucratic supervisor and merchant in Coral. While not the splendor of even a Terrestrial Gens, his family still possessed significant holdings, with a large number of them having received life-extending enhancements. His parent’s busy schedule left them little time to care for him personally, leaving him alone with a nanny or I AM learning modules more often than not. Each of his parents, however, occasionally made the time to bring the generally well-behaved and quiet child with them to work, his father occasionally even taking him on business trips to other islands. Tyrmin’s attentive nature led him to gradually develop a certain familiarity and understanding of what his parents did, in spite of his young age.

Tyrmin and his family were moved from Coral to Meru when he was 6 years old, in 3564, officially in order to replace controllers of the Order-Conferring Trade Pattern, but unofficially to put Tyrmin into a safer location for his eventual Exaltation following the Usurpation, which occurred two years later. In the years following the Usurpation, his parents continued to act loyally towards the new regime, organizing logistical coordination and helping to implement new programs to promote resource redevelopment both in Meru proper and throughout the Isle.

Unfortunately for them, Meru was no longer the relatively safe place it had once been. Six years ago, a large riot broke out following Larquen Quen’s announcement of his survival, and it engulfed the building in which they both worked. By the time emergency responders suppressed the riot and extinguished the flames, both of them had perished. Standing at their funerary pyre two days later, a mostly ceremonial gesture, Tyrmin reached two conclusions. First, this was the end of his childhood. He could no longer afford to be dependant on others. Second, while his life had reached an ending, and therefore a new beginning, the ideals that his parents had taught him, ideals that to a certain extent went against the established bureaucratic and commercial norms for the Midnight Protectorate and had been born in his family hundreds of years ago, would NOT end, but rather continue.

And then, like the punchline to some perverse universal joke, he took the second breath, his soul and fate blossoming into the vibrant purple of the Endings caste, and placing him into a context far removed from anything he had ever dreamed.

Whispered Brilliance

Whisper is only in the middle ages of the Sidereal ranks. Born in the middle of the First Age, he was the great-grandnephew of Victorious Radiance, a Zenith and a talented martial artist in her own right. It was she, not his Sidereal Sifu, who taught him the Holy Warrior Style, and who gave him his first real glimpse into both the Greatness and ultimately the Madness of the Solars. Fortunately, or perhaps not, she perished almost three hundred years before the Usurpation. Her reincarnation quickly grew corrupted by the environment of Solar indulgence and insanity, and he eventually wound up becoming an infernalist . It was Whispered Brilliance that came to claim his head on that fateful night, and he was eventually victorious over the crazed Solar and his hidden army of Yozi-spawn, mostly due to the very style that the Solar’s previous incarnation had taught him.

Whisper tends to speak softly, when he speaks at all. He is a calm, collected man with towering expectations and a rigidly shackled temper. He expects the same quality of performance in his student as he does in himself, though willing to admit that his student, for all his apparent talent and work ethic, is still, after all, a student. He will provide help, if it is absolutely necessary.
