Caraka Amunya appears to be a man in his early 20's whose short blond hair, pale skin and dark hazel eyes show him to hail from the Northern regions of Creation. His wiry build suits him well, the result of his previous penchant for walking large stretches of the world to see what there is to see. His style of clothing when on official business is practical; while off the clock, some of his flair as a performer shows through.

Caraka was born in Brahm's Bridge in Year of Our Everlasting Glories 3546, the son of mortal scholars who worked in the library of Cythal Sargon, the Zenith whose personal manse was located outside the city. He showed his skill at imitation early on, becoming quite adept at picking up the mannerisms and voices of others around him. His skills came to the attention of Sargon when, unbeknownst to the young boy, the Zenith saw him reciting one of his own declarations while perfectly imitation the elder Solar. Amused by the boy, he took him to Meru the next year, introducing him to Heron's Blessing, an acting trope created by the Eclipse of Sargon's circle. Here, the boy thrived, surrounded by all that the White City could teach him.

Of course, by this time many of the Solars had fallen to madness. One such Solar, a Night by the name of Neidra Valara became infatuated with Caraka after watching one of his performances and stalked him constantly, leaving little love notes that terrified the young man. One day, Caraka felt the familiar prick on the back of his neck that denotes her presence; he began to run through the streets, dodging both mortals and Exalts alike to stay away from the obsessed Iron Wolf. As he ran, his hands began moving on their own, weaving with invisible thread. With one final tug, an alleyway opened before him and, as he ran through it and out the other side, he found himself standing by the Yu-shan gate in the Academy, completely on the other side of Meru from where he had previously been. Standing at the gate was a woman in dark blue robes, smiling brightly. She introduced herself as Yukari Norana and explained to the rather startled young man what had occurred.

Caraka spent the next year in Yu-shan learning of his duties as a Sidereal. During that time, the other Sidereals that were not also in training were finishing up the plans for the Usurpation; Caraka was oblivious to the events that were to come until after his graduation. He was torn when he heard of the reasons behind the Usurpation, as he recalled both those Solars who still had sound minds - Sargon, his original patron - and those who had fallen far over the centuries - Nerida and others. When the time came, Caraka's task was to take care of a young Twilight by the name of Varyn Korem. Rather than go the coward's way and sneak up upon an Exalt barely older than himself, Caraka went to Varyn and explained what needed to be done. To Caraka's susprise, Varyn agreed with the plans of the Sidereals; he had been tormented on a regular basis by his much-older circlemates and did not want to fall into that same trap. Varyn quickly wrote a letter to his Lunar mate explaining his decision, then allowed Caraka to do the deed. Honoring Varyn's trust, Caraka made it quick, then delivered the letter to the Lunar after things calmed down.

That was fifteen years ago, and Caraka Amunya has become something a fixture in the lower rungs of the Night Sky Regime. He does his duty well, working with the other Sidereals to make sure that the Godkings do not cause more damage to the world than has already been done. At times, though, he thinks back to that evening with a young Twilight, and wonders what might have happened if things were different.

Acquaintances 3: Caraka acts as a patron to the Heron's Blessing acting troupe, the group he ran with when he was mortal. They know him as Dezika the Pathfinder, a fixture in Quiet Meru who is rumored to be a son of Mercury herself; this identity is a Resplendent Destiny under the Gull.
Artifact 1: Although he has a few other trinkets that he has procured for his duties in Yu-shan, one of Caraka's artifacts is purely his own. Ringing Rebuke, a pair of Harmonized Starmetal Fate Rings (2m) that were created for him not after the Usurpation by Kind Jasmine, a Waxing Moon who wished to (quietly) thank Caraka for doing what he could to make her mate's passing quick and painless.
Allies 1: Flickering Candle, a Pterok playwright who Caraka befriended during his training days in Yu-shan. The two are still close, although their respective duties make it hard to see each other regularly.
Backing 2: Caraka's standing within the NSR is somewhat low on purpose. He works with the regime, of course, but keeps himself out of as much of the political wrangling as possible. The Usurpation mellowed the Journeys considerably, and he keeps some distance between himself and most of the other Sidereals.
Backing 1: Caraka has some standing within the Golden Baroque, if only because he's been able to get away with a Resplendent Destiny that is one of Mercury's kids.  ;)
Manse 2: Caraka has access to two manses; one is a rank 1 Air Manse on the lower levels of Meru which produces the Stone of Quick Thought, while the other is a small rank one Fire-aspected villa in Yu-shan which produces the Stone of Passion.
Panoply 2: Mostly utility items that allow for him to do his duties within Creation.
Salary 2: Caraka had just finished his training two years before the Usurpation; since then, he has earned only a beginning Sidereal's pay.
Sifu 3: Silent Mournful Starfall, Chosen of Endings. A centuries-old Reckoner, she took Caraka under her wing after his original sifu died during the Usurpation.
Wealth 1: Caraka has slowly pooled some of his earnings from his work in Heaven into a more mundane system of wealth; also, his performances and plays often fetch a pretty obol.
