Aha, see!  I still have much to learn. A page I tughoht would be problematic doesn't seem to have caused any issues at all. Good to see that Tom and I getting across the important bits in terms of story/character development, though.  That's always a concern of mine, making sure there aren't going to be any huge  huh?  moments for readers. Thanks so much for taking time to answer the questions!  I sometimes get feedback from family and friends, but because I talk to them about Overtures, I don't know for sure if they're  getting  things from the comic or my conversations with them.

My stsier has just left a comment on my blog saying the same thing. She has a netbook so her screen is smaller than most. There has been quite a revolution in screen resolutions. Ten years ago, the majority of people were reading on screens which were 800 x600 pixels. So the convention was that your website should never be more than 780 pixels wide (to allow some for the scrolling bar). These days, most screens are at least 1000 pixels wide so things are changing. The basic template for this blog and for others I've seen is 940 pixels  which simply wouldn't have fit on screens a few years ago.On my screen, those buttons are so far off to the side that I barely even see them. What my stsier suggested, which I've now done, is that I put the buttons on the right, so if they do overlap, they only overlap the sidebar. What do you think of that placement?
