Every new regime needs an enforcer. Someone to root out dissidents. Someone to be an example to others. Someone to be vilified by the opposition, a figurehead for hatred and plots of revenge. For this task, the Night Sky Regime has chosen a comparatively young Chosen of Battles, who has risen to the task with much gusto.

Born in the years just before the great uprising against the unjust rule of the Solars, the young Tira Akar grew up on Vanat, an out of the way island in the West without even an I AM connection. Her life as a youngster was simple; sail, fish, fish some more. No one on her island had even seen an Exalt in living memory, though her grandmother insisted that her own grandmother had seen a Dragon-Blooded once when she was very young. Tira's concerns were mostly about the sea, and perhaps the cute boy from the village on the other side of the island... until her island was rezoned to become a part of the Archipelago of Xur. Someone in middle management wanted to test urban warfare scenarios in non-urban settings, just to see what would happen.

Most of the village's inhabitants didn't last long. Tira was the exception. Flitting between the inland jungle and the sea, she became like a ghost, picking off an invader here, there. The ebb and flow of the ongoing battle became something visible to her. She could see where they'd send their patrols next, and find the perfect spot for an ambush and quick escape.

Once the young girl had dispatched a full talon of the invaders, including several gunzosha, it evidently became clear to the higher ups that the experiment had hit a snag; Strategos Kan-Hur himself took an interest, and despite her newfound gifts she was no match for a Dawn caste of 900 years. She would like to think that their battle lasted hours and shook the very fundament of Creation, and perhaps it felt that way to her, but it truly lasted perhaps five minutes. After she lay broken in the sands of her home's beaches, Kan-Hur actually shook her hand and congratulated her on contributing to a fascinating experiment.

It was not at all hard for the dissatisfied Sidereals to convince her to share their views of the Solar Exalted. Her only regret was that she wasn't sufficiently experienced to truly take part in the main thrust of the great undertaking to restore just rule to Creation, and as a result she has thrown herself wholeheartedly into her work after the fact, and risen through the ranks quickly as a result. Highly placed in the hierarchy of the Meru Hunt, she now sails the sky rather than the sea, and her name has become a dark legend among the rebels; some have come to call her "the Red Sky at Morning," while others skip all pretense of euphemism and simply call her "Blood in the Sky." She finds these titles quite amusing, and even some of her underlings have taken to using them.

A tall, powerfully built woman, Tira Akar is not unattractive, nor is she a wallflower (though she prefers more intimate one-on-one interaction to the noise and flash of public life). Her tanned skin contrasts with her short shock of ash blonde hair; it went white from stress during her campaign on Vanat, and she refuses to dye it. She is not subtle; indeed, she is quite the opposite. She has had enough of sneaking and subtlety to last a lifetime, even the long one afforded to Chosen of the Maidens. It is perhaps for this reason that she has built such a reputation so quickly.
