Gunpei Yokoi was the creator of the Game & Watch, Game Boy, and the Virtual Boy for Nintendo. Yokoi is said to have come up with the idea of the Game & Watch after observing a salary man fingering with his pocket calculator while traveling to work. Yokoi left Nintendo in 1996 after the failure of the Virtual Boy and was killed in a roadside accident in 1997.
