Because of the cooperation between Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Austrian Authorities, a significant number of Pakistani students, mainly for PhD studies, are enrolled at different Universities in Austria. The first batch of about 35 Pakistani students reached Austria in November 2003. Since then the community has grown to more than 100 scholars by the end of 2005.
