periodic updates (feature of the month or something similar) on the main page

create a mailing list and offer those to join who have volunteered contact information.

What to feature on the main page

  • most viewed items
  • news & updates (publicly editable)
  • new pages created in the last month
  • other statsitics, like the most updated or least updated pages
  • most recently updated pages
