Kaiserslautern is a small city in the state RhienlandPfalz (eng: Rhine-land Palatinate) in Western Germany. It lies at a one-hour train from French border and a one-half hour train from Frankfurt a.M. The city is known for the largest US army base in Europe and a huge military airfield (Ramstein) near it. Americans call this city K-town. This city lies between hills and a river called 'Lautern' once flew through it.

This page is part of a broader series of information pages aimed at helping the Pakistani/Muslim community in Germany. Here you will find Kaiserslautern-specific information only, for general information on living in Germany in general, see Living in Germany.
