FOLK - Friends of the Longkill

Residents along and near Longkill Road in the Towns of Clifton Park and Ballston have banded together as FOLK, which stands for "Friends of the Longkill." This new, grassroots community group was formed to advocate for protection of important open space in the area, principally the 18.7 acres of woods and wetlands now proposed by Kain Development LLC of New Jersey for a conventional sprawl subdivision west of Longkill Road. The land abuts Hearthside Drive and other, more than 30-year-old streets in the Country Knolls-Longkill neighborhood, and is located along the northern boundary of the Town of Clifton Park and Town of Ballston lines.
