Under his text moniker, Writtenz, Laos began his emcee career in the summer of 2007. After much toiling and dedication, Laos would complete his first mixtape, the unreleased "'''The Double Helix'''". However, Laos would end up shelving the tape, concerned that it would need tweaking before he officially released it. Putting that aside, Laos began work on his second project which would end up being his first official mixtape, "[[Victory Of The People]]", dropping it solely on the web on April 4, 2008.

After recieving generally good reviews, although they were few in number, Laos was invited to participate in the third installment of a collaborative mixtape featuring nothing but emcees and producers registered with nobodysmiling.com, hosted by textcee turned emcee, [[Tha Nice One]]. Alongside that project, Laos has been working with fellow textcee turned emcee, TW-1, formerly Snuffleupagus, on a mixtape tenatively titled '''The Sample Kings: Volume I'''. But more than just netcees, Laos has also been working with his track team brothers on a comedy-rap mixtape entitled "We Sprint Hotfire."
